Preflop: Flatcalling and 3betting
IN GAME AWARENESS (Who is in CO/BU/SB/BB?)
-Fish behind
-> we flat call more and 3bet less
->e.g. SB: we flat KQs. KJs if BB is fish
-Regs behind
-> flat call less and 3bet more
Opponents' RFI stats
-vs aggro opponent we 3bet more as their opening range is wider (increase bluffing range)
-> including postflop aggro opponents
-vs weak/loose passive we flat more
-vs fish we 3bet thinner for value and NO BLUFFS (flat more hands)
Stacksize
-25bb flatting with 65s is a waste of money
"the shorter you are, the more broadway/high card heavy hands we want to flat"
"the deeper, the more suited connectors and small pocket pairs"
GOLDEN RULE
-Short stack: being able to play many flops and play a lot of small pots
-Deeper stack: folding more flops but able to play more larger pots (87s, 44 etc)
When to 3bet?
-the earlier position we are, the less we 3bet
-IN GAME AWARENESS
3bet looser vs:
- high RFI or Fold to 3bet
->> BU > 55% RFI
->> CO > 32%
->> MP > 25%
-WE 3BET LOOSER VS OPPONENTS THAT ARE OPENING WIDER RANGES
We isolate looser vs fish with semi strong hands (suited broadways, suited AT+, AJo+)
ALWAYS ISOLATE LOOSER VS FISH (especially if we're IP)
We want to 3bet more hands when opponent is opening larger sizes > 2.5x
(3bet more when villain is opening bigger)
If we're not sure whether to flat or 3bet-> we consider what player type they're: we should overfold vs nits
If there are regs behind, we want to 3bet more but when there are fishes behind, we want to flat more
Squeezing
-hands that are strong enough to squeeze as a bluff, we should CALL instead
-we are often squeezing more from the SB vs MP/LP open and LP flatcalls
-we squeeze more when villain has high RFI
-only squeeze hands that are too weak to call, but still have reasonable equity when called
-> 3bet hands like A2s and flat hands such as JTs
-squeeze light vs stacksizes which can only all in or fold
-squeeze should always be on a BIGGER size
AVOID BLUFF SQUEEZING VS A FISH WHEN OOP
Fold speculative hands (A5s etc.) when we're quite short (20bb)
In SB, if BU opens and BB is a fish, we rather flat call
however, if BB is a reg, we rather 3bet hands such as KTs
