Max Value Rules
Preflop Rules
1) Open shoving 15bb or less:
always use the charts
2) Reshoving/Calling Reshoves:
use chart vs CO or later
3) Opening from all positions:
use the opening range charts except:
- having very aggro opponent in the blinds (open tighter)
- ICM pressure (may play tighter or looser depending on your stack sizes)
4) Always open to 2x BB except SB vs BB where we open to 3.5x BB
-deeper stacks (50bb or more) we can make it 2.5x or 3x
5) With less than 40bb stack, our 3bet value range is always JJ+/AKo at the minimum vs any opponent from any position
6) Never flat any hands except strong pocket pairs and premium suited broadways from all positions except BB, SB, BU and CO
- follow the flat/3-bet charts
Flop Rules
7) When heads-up and IP as the PFR:
c-bet always with 30% pot with 100% of our hands
- except when board favors opponent too much (AKs vs BB on 567ddd)
8) When OOP as PFR:
c-bet any draws, strong top pairs or better
check/call weak top pairs and middle pairs
check/fold the rest
9.1) When facing less than half-pot c-bet on flop:
Call or raise with:
- any pair or better
- any draws
- any A-high or two overcard hands with backdoor draws
- any hand with multiple backdoor draws
on dry boards, also call or raise with A-high and 2 overcards without backdoors
9.2) When facing a bigger than half-pot c-bet on the flop heads-up:
Call or raise with:
- middle pairs or better
- any flush draws or open-ended straight draws
on dry boards, also call or raise with bottom pairs and gutshots
(generally if we're very short we can check/shove any pair on the flop)
10) When facing a flop c-bet:
- raise with our best value hands (top pair top kicker and better)
- raise with strong draws with overcards (flush draws/straight draws with overcards)
- semi-bluff with some of our lowest equity draws (backdoors and gutshots)- only use this vs very aggressive opponents
IP: raise between 2.2-2.7x
OOP: raise between 2.5x-3x
11.1) Betting Multiway
When we're first to bet multiway:
- bet our best top pairs and better
- bet our flush draws, open ended straight draws and gutshot with backdoors
- bet hands that needs protection like middle pair on low-medium boards
-NEVER PURE BLUFF MULTIWAY
- check all our other hands
11.2) Facing a bet Multiway
- if one player bet and others fold, continue with middle pairs and strong draws +
- if one player bets and there are others to act behind/a player calls, continue with good top pairs and strong draws +
- if one player bets and another raises, fold everything except hands we dont mind getting it in with
Turn Rules
12.1) Turn Betting IP
- bet strong top pairs and better
- bet our best flush draws (overcards) and worst flush draws (9-high or lower)
- check all remaining pairs, OESD and middle strength flush draws
- check/fold our trash hands (undercards with no draws)
12.2) Turn Betting OOP
- bet top pair/top kicker or better
- bet all draws
- check/call draws with accompanying pairs
- check/fold everything else
13.1) Facing half-pot c-bet on the turn in heads-up pot
- defend with second pair or better
- defend any flush draw or OESD
- fold everything else
13.2) Facing 1.25x c-bet (overbet) on the turn in heads-up pot
- defend with top pair or better
- defend any flush draw or open-ended straight draw (implied odds- deep stacked)
- fold everything else
River Rules
14.1) IP, heads-up we bet the river when our hand has 75% equity vs opponent's range (top pair top kicker on safe boards, flushes, straights, trips)
OOP, 50%+ equity (weaker top pairs, second pairs when board is safe)
14.2) River bet sizing
90%+ equity we overbet (150% pot)
75%-90%, bet 50% to 100%
OOP, between 50%-75% we bet 33% pot size
15) River Bluffing
- bluff the river with hands that has 0% equity AND
-> we block villain's calling range
-> we unblock villain's folding range
(never bluff vs station!)
16.1) Bluff-catching River
- when we're holding bluff-catchers, we lean towards folding unless we have a VERY GOOD reason to call (JUST FOLD)
16.2) Facing a bet on the river
- if we can beat any hands in their value betting range, atleast call their bet
- if we have more than 75% equity vs their value range, we can RAISE
