Preflop: Open Raising

Open raising strategy:

EP: Static range

MP: Adjustment based on CO, BU, SB and BB
-play looser if there are fish in the blinds
-play looser if there are tight players on CO or BU
-play tighter if there are loose/aggro player on CO or BU

LP: Big adjustments based on BU/Blinds

Look at VPIP:PFR:3BET and adjust your opening range vs those stats
e.g. 24/20/7 - LP = tight player meaning we can open wider from MP and LP

If villain is tight preflop, this means that their ranges are stronger post-flop therefore we can make assumptions/judgement based

IN GAME TABLE AWARENESS
Players in (CO/BU)
Loose/aggro player-> we play tigther (includes limping with shorter stack sizes)
Tight player-> we play looser and widen our opening range
Loose/passive player -> we play tight and strong range (only if villain has position on us)
(50/20/2)-> we should open strong and "playable range"

Players in (SB/BB)
Fish-> we play looser
Tight/weak regs -> we play looser
Aggro/good reg -> we play tighter + "blocker range"

Range Construction
-remember to always consider in game awareness
-> eg. if SB/BB are tight fish, we can open raise T6o from BU which we would usually fold if there is a reg in the blinds

SB Plays
Against aggro opponents who 3bets a lot-> we can defend more hands like KTs, KJs etc. we can call these hands
We choose the highest equity hands that cannot flat vs a 3bet when called to 4bet bluff vs aggro 3bettors-> we choose hands like suited Ax (A2s-A5s) and weak suited K8s, Q8s, J8s

vs sticky BBs (good regs)
-we want to play mixed strategy where we include more limping hands

Adjustment for 25-40bb
-play less suited connectors and small pocket pairs
-> the shorter we get, the less value those hands are
-mixed strategy from SB (regardless of the villain)

Adjustments for 10-25bb
-always mixed strategy from SB
-however vs fish, we will play very unbalanced mixed strategy from SB (exploitative)
-> limp all weak hands and raise all high equity hands
-OPEN RAISE TIGHTER FROM BU CO AND HJ
-open shoving more
-opening from CO and there are reshove stacks on BU and SB
-> we open tighter!

Max Value Rules
